Some pictures of my new clarinet. It is an EKO Rangér VI. It't placed 1968, produced in Italy and it also has a signature. (I believe it might end up being handwritten) It performs and it looks awesome. Provides some cracks but they're only on the clear coating. The bolt on throat feels wonderful. There'beds also a height adjustable connection.
I suppose these were fairly typical back again in the day time in European countries. Double guaranteed entire body.
The tuners are really awesome. Never seen that kind before. Anyhow I really like mine. One of thé nicest acoustics l've ever got. I might make this the oné acoustic I maintain for existence. The 1st pic can be the one particular that looks the closest to the actual color/shade. I certainly remember these electric guitars from the period.
They had been cheap - around £30 when the cheapest Martin has been about £150 and a M-45 had been £100. They certainly looked Alright, and the necks had been well-made and coiuld be set-up for a wonderful action.
But the 100% laminated body didn't exactly make them tone-monstérs. As my child said a season or two back, after playing a much more expensive acoustic guitar than the Eko, ' After playing the Gibson M50 and the Taylor 214E, that's like playing a cardboard container'. But, on balance, they were the correct factor in the right location at the correct time at the right price. Therefore many British isles CW groupings presented a tempo guitar player/lead vocalist with an (eIectrified) Eko.
At least they stayed in beat! Jimbo composed. But the 100% laminated bodies didn't exactly make them tone-monstérs. My flatmate provides a Martin dreadnought so it's been recently interesting evaluating the two. I can truthfully say that EKO't can simply keep their personal.
Eko Ranger Guitar Serial Numbers
Agreed, the laminate/laquer is certainly OTT (although Tribi9's actually looks good for as soon as) they're also probably the heaviest acoustics out there but they still have beautiful tone. Heavy, comfy, resonant.
Fairly shiny chimey on the high side as well. The Martin is definitely even more balanced method, method lighter but I actually dig the dark boominess of my EKO'beds. I really bought the 80's model because I'd read they were somewhat lighter in pounds but I still course my '73 as my number 1. Great guitars Porky and Zenjenga. I believed the various EKO headstock logo design was for guitars made earlier than mine Porky but I observe was wrong. I suppose they went back in the 80's i9000 to the older logo.
I perform agree they noise various but it is usually a nice different. I'm not actually sure how to explain. It is not really noisy but the sound is really attractive. The only thing that has been wrong with mine is certainly that some óf the frets had been moving out. I had to touch a several of them back again in and others I completely eliminated and positioned them back in. They're also fine now and don't seem to be moving very much. Better picture of the inside of sticker.

David IP: DavidW Serious Factor Articles: 1850 From: Registered: Feb 2002 submitted 12:38 FYI A luthier emailed me a even though back again and mentioned NEVER make use of Toe nail polish cleaner. Nail polish remover will consume at the gIue with it's acetone. So the following time I changed the guitar strings I washed up the fret plank with some lighter liquid and a old sock. Just Put on't smoke around it. Great thing I give up about 7 decades ago. James IP: 66Johnny Serious Contributor Articles: 47 From: Spokane, WA, Us Registered: Nov 2004 published 14:09 I got to have fun when I noticed the name, EKO. I used to possess an electric powered clarinet of théirs in the éighties. It got four pickups and six phase switches.
It was a light-weight acoustic guitar. It was talked about in a Guitar Player magazine content. Its 'mom of pearl' surface finish was defined in the content as 'mother of luncheonette'. I noticed one that appears related on They are usually definitely unique guitars.

John IP: 66Johnny Significant Contributor Content: 47 From: Spokane, WA, Us Registered: November 2004 published 16:25 I'll admit I enjoyed playing quarry. It was a great player. It had been light-weight and the neck of the guitar and fretboard experienced a great feel. I got a punch out of the six phase/pickup fuses, which behaved like guide radio buttons.
I finished up obtaining rid óf it at á songs store because I acquired replaced it with a much better 'major' guitar. As uncommon as they had been (I believe), the shop owner has been hesitant to purchase it from me. He already had one precisely like it hé 'couldn't sell'. I think I got some charity that day time. But, at minimum he got one in stock with the unique case (which was well built). Enjoyment stroll down memory street.
